This June I was finally able to take the trip that I have been dreaming about for years to Italy, and let me tell you, almost everything they say about this incredible country is absolutely true. The sights, the food, the people, everything was just like I imagined it would be and more!

The only thing about the trip that was different than I imagined was that I thought that I would be cruising around the streets of Rome and The Vatican on a little vespa scooter, but as it turned out I rented a car instead and it really made the trip worth while. You may have heard that driving over there is pretty crazy, but that doesn’t even begin to describe the wild way that Italian people drive. It’s like a free for all in some places! If I were you I would definitely rent a car in Italy instead of driving a scooter or you might come home in more pieces than you left with.

After getting my international drivers license with the help of my AAA insurance, I was ready to go. I researched the best car rental agencies in Italy and the one name that kept coming back up was the SIXT company. Having never tried it before my wife and I were a little skeptical but as it turns out they gave us an adorable little two door for a more than reasonable price. I would highly recommend going with SIXT if you are going to rent a car in Italy, they treated us great!
