Get in Training for a Long Flight

The very first thing I really like to do is to get as little sleep as practicable the night before any cheap flights to Thailand, this way when I get on the aeroplane I am hopefully able to just go to sleep and awaken at my destination (cause if the flight is cheap, then I *know* it is not going to be a comfortable seat!). I only endorse this if you may be able to perform any jobs you have to do before your flight. If you have got to drive for five hrs first you may wish to get a good night sleep, and perhaps take some Tylenol pm or something else to make you sleepy.

Many folks like to get a little drunk on a flight, I’m not one of them, but if it helps you relax and get a little sleep then I say go for it, simply do not permit yourself to drink to the point at which you become an unpleasant drunk on an aircraft.

My next tip is to get to the airfield three hours in advance, this is for two reasons.

By getting there so early I’m always one of if not first to essentially check in for my flight, which customarily gets me a good seat, and I haven’t got to attend in long lines. The other reason for always getting t the Air port at least three hrs before your flight is, if you check in early you cant get bumped from the plane, the folks that get there last minute sometime here the words overbooked, which completely nullifies any savings you made by getting cheap airfares.

What you take with you on the aeroplane can make a gigantic difference between having a pleasing flight and being so incredible bored that you go nutty. I usually make efforts to bring an entirely charged MP3 player, my MP3 player hold twenty gigs of music so I never need to go into my bag to risk a CD or a memory card, and I have loads more music to hear then time to hear it. I also suggest bringing a thick soft sweater with you on the airplane, this may be used if it is cold on the airplane, or you may use it as an additional pillow.

I love to play Nintendo games, so I travel with one of the new hand held video games everywhere I’m going, so if I’m not in the mood for reading I will play some games and keep myself occupied, and that actually is the key. Keep yourself busy on the airplane and you’ll be dazzled at how quick the flight goes, if you stare at the clock and target the planes progress it’ll feel a bit like forever.

“Name Your Own Price” Car Rental

Would you like to take advantage of the popular “name your own price” car rental for you Italy car rental? In truth, this technique can be a life saver especially on short notice. But here’s the thing…you have to accept the fact that you’ll be booking your rental car minus the knowledge of who you will be renting from up front. That’s right. The two major sites that offer this type of car rental service provides you with the best possible deal for your location without telling you in advance which company you’ll be using. Here’s a detailed description of how the process works.

The first site with the option to “name your price” is called Hotwire. You simply type in your pick-up location and determine the type of car you want to rent. The website will use special technology to offer you a price that includes taxes and fees. Unfortunately you won’t get access to a breakdown of the charges. Plus, if you choose to book your Italy car rental this way, you won’t know who the rental car agency is until you agree to go ahead and reserve the vehicle.

The second “name your price” site is Priceline. It gives you more control by allowing you to set the prices as opposed to waiting for the rental company to make you an offer. If your bid is accepted you will be locked into that rate. It takes only a couple of minutes to find out if you bid has been accepted. If you go this route for your Italy car rental you have a great chance of getting a vehicle at a price you can afford.

Experience a True Gelato in Italy

You have not done anything yet until you have had a gelato in Italy. The proper way to find out if a gelato vendor is selling fresh product is to ask for a sample of the lemon flavored gelato. If the lemon flavor is very fresh, then the rest of their products are more than likely fresh. gelati have a much higher fat and sugar content than ice creams found in the United States and have much more intense flavors. Most people who go to Italy forget about genuine gems like this that make their trip really worth it. Enjoying the simple things like a fresh gelato may be even better than seeing an old location like the coliseum in Rome. The best thing about gelati, is the fact that they are great in almost any fashion when made by a genuine gelato artisan.

Being able to get a great gelato from a true artisan in Italy may only be a short drive away, so having a great car rental option available is one of the best options. The great selection of vehicles available online is only limited to your time of reservation. This means that taking advantage of great car rentals online is possible if you take the time to book your rentals in advance. Many people forget to get a car rental reservation made and they are stuck with overpriced options that may not suit their tastes or even needs while visiting Italy.
