Since we first started dating, I have always enjoyed spoiling my significant other. Although I didn’t use to treat other girls like that, there was something about her that made me want to go above and beyond to put a smile on her face. In addition to being madly in love with her, I think another reason is because she has never asked for anything from me. She obviously loves all of the things that I do for her, but she has never been the type of girl to nag or even subtly bother me to do or get something for her.
Knowing this information, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that when I proposed to her, my proposal was followed by an “engagement honeymoon.” I know that’s not something most people do, but I couldn’t imagine having it any other way. I had actually contemplated taking the trip and proposing to her while we were in Italy, but I made the decision that she would be happier getting engaged closer to home so she could share it with her friends and family. I actually told this to her during our time in Italy, and she said that I did make the right decision!
